Question: Will my property taxes go up to add the skate park?
Answer: NO. Your taxes will NOT go up just for the skate park. Insurance and liabilty is covered the same as the playground equipment that is already in place at the Brockway Twp. Park. This addition will cost you NOTHING.
Question: Will there be a fee to skate?
Answer: NO. The skate park will be utilized as the basketball courts and playground equipment, free of charge. There will be no one supervising, so parental guidance is strongly suggested.
Question: Do we have to wear helmets and pads to skate?
Answer: Although it is strongly suggested, the park will not require these items. It is up to the parents and individual to be responsible for their children or themselves safety.
Question: When you hold teen dances, is there supervision?
Answer: YES. Any event we hold has parents and volunteers. The dances have at least 6-8 chaperones, if not more, who monitor the doors and bathrooms and keep these events safe for our kids. Parents are more than welcome to attend, or volunteer for chaperones any time. (See our contacts page to volunteer).
Question: How long will it take to get a skate park?
Answer: When we reach our goal of $200,000. We do this through donations, fundraisers and eventually will apply for various grants to help with costs. We believe this will take 1-2 years to be complete. (See our donations page to make a contribution.)
